One third of our Organic Garden Allotment Sites, both in the Silver and Gold categories are specifically designed for use by the physically disabled. Our allotment sites are planned to locate these special garden plots as near to the communal facilities as possible.
These include:
- Full disabled Toilet facilities with running water.
- Communal heated and irrigated Greenhouse with wheelchair access. (Gold Sites only)
- Raised growing beds 0.6 m high (available at extra cost).
- Automated irrigation system (Gold Sites only)
- Individual log cabins on Gold Allotment Sites have wheelchair access
- Private Car Park with reserved bays, close to Garden Plots on both Silver and Gold Sites.
- All pathways are finished in hard pea shingle and resin effect concrete and are 1.5 metres wide.
- All owners and tenants are eligible to join the Allotment Site Management Committee in the interest of disabled users.
- Physically disabled owners and tenants are encouraged to particpate in all social activities, to include joining the LGA "Cabbage Club"
- Please note that Gold Allotment Sites are not available for rental.
